Hey friends!

We’re starting 2026 here in Northern Thailand, and we’re so excited about what God is doing and what’s ahead. There’s a fresh sense of faith and expectation in this season, and we’re grateful that we get to walk this journey with you.

Even in these first few months, we’ve already seen God move in meaningful ways—new connections, open doors, and lives being impacted. It’s been such a powerful reminder that every step of obedience matters, and we couldn’t do this without your prayers and support.

We can’t wait to share some of the highlights and testimonies from the start of this year here in Chiang Mai!

SAN KAMPHAENG COMMUNITY CENTER

On March 12, 2026, we officially launched our community center in San Kamphaeng, a town on the east side of Chiang Mai. This area is largely a Thai community, with deeply rooted Buddhist influence shaping everyday life.

This initiative is a direct answer to prayer. For a long time, we had been asking God to send the right people to help us reach Thai communities in a deeper, more intentional way—and He did. He brought us Alice and Edwin, a Filipino couple with a genuine love for people and a strong calling to serve the Thai community. Their “yes” has opened the door for this ministry to begin.

Through this community center, we are now able to build meaningful relationships with local families through practical livelihood programs such as soap-making, baking, and cooking. These simple but intentional initiatives are creating spaces for connection, trust, and ongoing engagement.

At the same time, we are taking steps to support families through educational assistance for children—especially those who do not have access to quality learning opportunities. This reflects our desire to serve in a holistic way, meeting both practical and spiritual needs.

One of the most encouraging developments has been the launch of our free after-school tutorials for children in the community. The response from parents has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have expressed deep gratitude, as a number of children in this area are currently behind in their studies. Some are enrolled in Buddhist learning centers where education is provided for free, but often in exchange for serving in the temple, leaving families with very limited options.

Through these after-school programs, we are able to not only help children grow academically but also create opportunities for the gospel to reach entire families. The message of Christ is thoughtfully and naturally woven into the lessons, allowing seeds of truth to be planted in a meaningful way.

We are also grateful to be building connections with the local government, which is opening doors for us to expand into other communities that could benefit from this kind of ministry.

Our long-term vision is to see a local church established—a place where the seeds being planted today can continue to grow, and where families can encounter the transforming love of Jesus for generations to come.

EXCITING TIME FOR COLLEGE MINISTRY

Our ministry with college students has just gone through another exciting and fruitful season!

Six months ago, we launched our Campus Game Night—a simple but intentional space to gather students from different universities across Chiang Mai. On our very first night, around 40 students joined us from four major universities. Since then, we’ve been meeting every Friday—sharing meals, playing games, and having meaningful conversations where the gospel is always at the center.

What’s been most encouraging is seeing how genuine relationships have formed over time. Week after week, trust has grown, connections have deepened, and students have become more open—not just to community, but to conversations about life, purpose, and faith.

This past March, we introduced a discipleship pathway, and we were so encouraged to see many students take that next step. Several have now committed to joining smaller discipleship groups that meet on a separate day, creating space for deeper growth and intentional mentoring.

Together with our campus team—Ben, Ella, Wijit, and Poppy—Campus Game Night has truly become something students look forward to. Some even ride their motorbikes from the other side of the city just to be part of our Friday gatherings, which speaks volumes about the kind of community that’s being built.

On March 21, just before the school break, we wrapped up the semester with a day retreat at Ob Khan National Park. It was a special time filled with worship, a message, lots of laughter, and shared moments together. Some of the students even jumped into the river for a swim—it was the perfect way to celebrate the season and create lasting memories.

While many students have returned to their hometowns during the break, those who remain in Chiang Mai are still faithfully coming to our Friday hangouts and continuing their discipleship journey. It’s been incredible to see their hunger for community and growth.

We truly believe God is raising up a generation in this city that will live boldly for Him—and we’re humbled to be part of their journey.

CHIANG MAI HOUSE OF PRAYER

Isaiah 56:7 – “For my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

At the core of Chiang Mai House of Prayer is a deep and growing passion for worship and prayer. We don’t see these as mere spiritual practices, but as a powerful partnership with God to contend for gospel breakthrough in this nation.

“History is not ultimately shaped in parliaments or palaces, but in prayer rooms where heaven is invited to rewrite the destiny of nations.”

In a region often described as spiritually dry, we believe worship and prayer are like rain—softening hearts and preparing the ground for the seed of the gospel to take root and bear lasting fruit.

In recent months, we’ve seen God begin to move in tangible ways. He has brought people who share this same burden and vision, and the House of Prayer is increasingly becoming a place where lives are being transformed and people are encountering Jesus.

It feels like something new is beginning to take shape—and we are expectant for what’s ahead.

We are deeply convinced that if God is going to move in a significant way to shape the future of Thailand, it will be through this generation. The campuses of today are the mission fields of tomorrow, and what happens in the hearts of young people now will define the spiritual direction of this nation in the years to come.

This is why we are committed to contending in prayer. Last January, we launched a twice-a-month prayer set just for the youth. We are going to our knees—not out of routine, but with urgency—asking God to pour out His Spirit across schools and universities. We are crying out for His presence to break in, for hearts to be awakened, and for a genuine move of God that leads to a great harvest of souls.

We long to see every campus in Thailand become a place where revival takes root—where students encounter Jesus, lives are transformed, and a generation rises to live fully for His glory.

This moment feels significant. The need is urgent, but so is our hope. And we believe that as we pray, God is already preparing the ground for something far greater than we can see.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT !!!

When we first arrived here 3.5 years ago, we carried a clear dream in our hearts—to see a church established that is deeply focused on reaching and discipling young people.

Much of our own journey in ministry was shaped through serving high school and college students, and that passion has never left us. From the beginning, we knew that investing in the next generation would be key to seeing lasting impact in this nation.

Last year, after returning from Jesus Revolution Convergence 2025, something was reignited in us. What had once been a quiet desire became a strong and undeniable stirring—to revisit this vision and begin asking God if now was the time.

As we stepped into January, we intentionally set our hearts to pray—and the Lord began to make it clear: this is the next step. What once felt distant suddenly felt present. What once felt like a dream now feels like an assignment.

With faith and excitement, we are beginning to prepare for the launch of a college-focused church before the end of this year.

Even now, we are seeing God move. We’ve started gathering a team, and it’s been incredible to watch how He is bringing the right people at the right time—each one carrying the same heart to reach students and see lives transformed.

We are fully aware that what lies ahead is significant. Planting a church among students will require faith, endurance, and deep dependence on God. But we move forward with confidence, knowing that He is the One leading this.

We would love to invite you to stand with us in prayer—for wisdom, unity, provision, and open doors—as we step into this next season of ministry. We truly believe that what God is about to do among the students will have lasting impact far beyond what we can see today.

THE MACS ARE DOING GREAT

One of our greatest joys in this season continues to be doing ministry together as a family. Each of our kids expresses their faith in their own unique way, but what we love most is seeing their growing love for God and for people. Watching their faith come alive—each in their own personality—has been one of the sweetest parts of this journey.

Even with a full ministry schedule, we’re intentional about keeping our family at the center. Our two older kids are now stepping into their teenage years (which is both exciting and… a whole new adventure ). It’s been so encouraging to see them seek God for wisdom and direction—and at the same time, we’re enjoying all the fun, everyday moments too. From laughter around the table to the occasional shy smiles when school crushes come up, we’re grateful for a home where our kids feel safe, loved, and free to be themselves.

As we look ahead to 2026, our hearts are full—grateful for what God has done, excited for what He is building, and full of faith for what’s still to come. We truly believe the best is ahead, and we’re expectant for more lives to be reached and transformed.

MINISTRY

• Please pray for our new church plant as we prepare and equip our team. Our desire is for this new work to be birthed in the Spirit and covered in prayer from the very beginning.

• Please continue to pray for our personal discipleship groups. Rina is investing in the lives of several teenage girls, while John is discipling a group of men as they grow deeper in their walk with the Lord.

• Please pray for wisdom, strength, and grace as we continue serving with Within Reach Global, especially in leadership roles and in the work of church planting. Ask the Lord to guide us clearly as we help build healthy, Spirit-led ministries.

• Please pray for the Chiang Mai House of Prayer, that the Lord would continue to lay a strong and enduring foundation. Pray that it would become a place of worship, intercession, and mission that bears lasting fruit in Chiang Mai and across Thailand.

FAMILY

• Please pray for God’s continued covering, protection, and strength over our family as we live and serve here in Thailand.

• Pray for Jet (15), Kari (13), and Reese (8) as they grow, that they would love Jesus deeply, walk closely with Him, and be salt and light among their classmates and friends.

• Please also remember John’s and Rina’s parents in the Philippines in prayer. Ask the Lord to watch over them, grant them good health and strength, and fill their days with His peace and sustaining grace.

This support has lifted a significant burden off our shoulders and has given us the freedom to focus more fully on building our family and faithfully stepping into the work God has called us to do.
